  • Hourly Pay Range: $10.68 – $11.48

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:
1. Restrooms: Daily housekeeping, scrubbing, disinfecting, and mopping as deemed necessary to provide a clean sanitary environment. Re-stocking of soap and paper dispensers. Efficiency monitored weekly by supervisor.
2. Dormrooms: Daily housekeeping which involves sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash receptacles. Also, assists in classroom set-up for special events. Efficiency monitored weekly by supervisor.
3. Hallways, stairwell and offices, exterior glass doors and windows. Daily housekeeping of hallways, stairwells and offices, which involves sweeping, dust mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, and emptying trash receptacles. Efficiency monitored weekly by supervisor.
4. Lounge and recreation areas: Daily housekeeping of dining area, sweeping, dusting, mopping. Linen set-up and clean change on cafeteria tables. Efficiency monitored weekly by supervisor.
5. Building-wide floor care: Maintains a clean and sanitary floor standard with precise application of floor cleaners, strippers, sealers, waxes and polish. Duties include the operation and use of low and high speed buffers, wet vacuums, vacuum, floor cleaning machine. Maintains housekeeping equipment filters, bags, belts, brushes, pads, batteries, ect. Efficiency monitored weekly by supervisor.
6. Gym: Floor maintenance and dusting of equipment. Efficiency monitored weekly by supervisor.
7. Any other reasonable task so assigned by supervisor. Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assists other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Daily Use: Vacuum cleaner.
Monthly Use: Floor machine, high speed buffer.
Quarterly Use: Extractor/steam cleaner for carpet, upholstery, and chairs.
Seasonal Use: Snow removal around entrances.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver’s License.

Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.  Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with fellow employees and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer 5 years experience in custodial work.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must submit to and pass a thorough background check including fingerprints. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., sit, walk, stand, repeatedly bend, stretch, twist, stoop or reach out with body, arms and/or legs. Must be able to endure discomforts of heat and cold.
